MOCCAE runs the national system for accrediting and registering food, under Federal Law No. 10 of 2015 on food safety. MoIAT registers the halal certification bodies, and they certify the producing establishment, not the retailer.
A food or cosmetic presented as halal must meet the UAE halal standards and hold the national halal mark, which MoIAT grants after checking product conformity. The establishment needs halal certificates for its final products and their raw materials.
No UAE claims rule was read. The only claim-type marking reached on a regulator page is the national halal mark, which is reserved for products certified against the UAE halal standards.
